Welcome to the SPARKD House.
Every house is built from nothing, and this one was no different. The SPARKD House is an interactive portfolio, an exhibition of my old and new work, where 3D, animation, photography, film and creative thinking come together under one roof. Take your time as you move through it, because the house is full of surprises and many details only reveal themselves from a certain angle. No two rooms are alike. The house holds a chapel and a rave bunker, a pool and a garden under glass. Still, you can tell they belong to the same house, the way the rooms of a home reflect the person who lives there. What connects them is the creative direction, a thread that runs through every room while only the execution changes.
My mind works like this house. It keeps rooms for things that were never meant to meet and opens the doors between them until they become one world.
Every idea starts with a feeling I can't yet name. I chase it through things that were never meant to share a room, like the sacred and the profane or nostalgia and the future, and I keep shaping until they belong together. Then I build a world around it, detail by detail, until you feel it everywhere, most of all in the one thing that doesn't fit.
The result is beautiful at first sight, and at second sight a quiet tension shows through. That is the feeling I am after. Beauty alone is quickly forgotten, but a feeling that unsettles you stays.
None of these worlds is meant to stay inside these walls. Each one can be translated into beauty and fashion, music and nightlife, fragrance and jewellery, without losing its accent.
Part of that accent is colour, and nothing about it is accidental. The main colours of the house come from SPARKD, the creative production studio I built together with my partner Bryan Linke. Canvas, ink, stone and crimson return in the pale rock, the black lake, the haze over the mountains and the light that glows from every room. You will find many more colours inside, but these four are the foundation the whole house is built on.
This house is more than a look back. It also shows where I am going, towards worlds you can step into where image, space, motion and story become one.
That is why some rooms are still under construction and why the house will never quite be finished, like any home that is truly lived in. Just when the renovation feels done, you want to change something again, because you have changed. The same goes for a person. You keep evolving and endlessly creating yourself, every new experience adds a colour, and sooner or later it shows in your house. This one is mine.
